Dear ViDoma Naturals:

I have been a customer of Vidoma Naturals for about 7 years and love the products.   I needed to take a moment out of my day to say THANK YOU for such a great product line.

I had recently exhausted my supply of Rejuva and as all of us women know, LIFE gets busy and I forgot to replenish my supply. So, I used a “go to brand” as a quick back up and that was a huge mistake! I had breakout city happening on my face !!!  I couldn’t get a refill fast enough. Needless to say, I won’t be so lazy about monitoring my supply of Vidoma Natural products ever again ! My face is happy and I smile every day because I feel good and it’s a big thank you to YOU Vidoma Naturals. Your product is amazing and I swear by it !!!! A forever customer !

In Algonquin Park this week! Lots of mosquitoes but your bug repellent is fantastic! My husband said this was the best spray he has ever used!!

My new night moisturizer makes my skin feel happy, as it always does with your products.

I purchased a trial size of your acne line.  I have adult acne (most hormonal.) My daughter suffers from teenage acne.

I couldn't believe as the old saying goes "what a difference a day makes". I noticed a difference in my blemishes over night.

It was smaller (a lot) the redness was gone.

I love your products.

I will be ordering the acne line for my daughter and the regular line for myself.

Who ever formulated these products deserves a pat on the back and a raise. I bow to your formula.

I am impressed that something that is natural works so well.

Keep up the good work!!!!

ViDoma Natural SUNSCREEN receives a 9 out of 10!!

Remember Vidoma Naturals, the company whose bug spray I recently reviewed? Well, they also sent me a Sunscreen Lotion to try. I used it on a recent trip to the beach with Kirby’s family, and today I’ll be sharing my thoughts.

Ingredients (provided at “Jojoba lotion, aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis) gel, organic extra virgin coconut (Cocos Nucifera) oil, argan (Argania spinosa) oil, organic sunflower oil (Helianthus annuus), zinc oxide, titanium oxide, Vitamin E (Tocopherol), green tea (Camellia sinesis) extract, and organic shea butter (butryospermum parkii fruit). ”

The preliminary report that I created for this product in the Cosmetics Database gives it a hazard score of 2. The only ingredient with a hazard score above a 2 is jojoba lotion, which is considered a proprietary ingredient.

Some great things about this product:

 1. It’s free of parabens and more dangerous sunscreen agents like oxybenzone.

 2. It’s safe for children under 5 years.

 3. It contains organic ingredients.

Product Description(provided at “ViDoma’s Sunscreen Lotion is a blend of natural ingredients and essential oils designed to protect the skin from the damaging rays of the sun.”

 Price- $15.95 for a 4 oz bottle.

Performance- Since I’m not accustomed to using sunscreens that haven’t been given an SPF value, I was a little worried that I’d burn easily while wearing this stuff. However, if you’ve read the EWG’s Nine Surprising Truths about sunscreen, then you know as well as I do that SPF value actually means very little and can actually encourage risky amounts of sun exposure. I applied this sunscreen every two hours while on the beach (the directions on the bottle suggested doing so every 4, but I like playing it safe), and I managed to make it through the week without getting burned (with the exception of my poor little knees since I neglected to reapply sunscreen to them on the first day). I even reapplied this product while relaxing for hours in the shade of a beach tent to ensure that I didn’t get any unwanted harmful rays.  Since I also had a bottle of Karen’s Botanicals Simple Sun Block Lotion to try (review to come), I didn’t use the Vidoma Naturals Sunscreen on my face. It doesn’t seem unnecessarily heavy or greasy, though, so I can’t really see it causing any problems in that area. As with most natural sunscreens, I’d suggest giving it a good shake before applying. I also noticed that this lotion didn’t leave my skin as white as other naturals I’ve used in the present/past, which was a surprising perk.

 Scent- Faint and vaguely nutty.

Rating- I’m subtracting a single point for the one questionable ingredient. 9/10.

Would I purchase this item again? I would!

Out & About Spray Reviewed by

 9 out of 10 !!

Since I know you guys keep track of each and every topic I’ve posted about in the past (sarcasm), I’m sure you all remember my bug spray post from last May. If not, then that’s okay too. I did happen to mention Vidoma Naturals Out & About Insect Repelling Spray in the aforementioned post, though, and it didn’t go unnoticed by the kind folks who are responsible for making and selling it. After seeing my post, they sent me a complementary Out & About Spray as well as an  all natural sunscreen (review to come). Nice, right?! Below is my review of the former.

Ingredients (provided on product’s label)- “Distilled water (Aqua), neem oil (Azadirachta indica) and Polysorbate 20, with cedarwood (Cadrus atlantica), peppermint (Mentha piperita), organic lavender (Lavendula augustifolia) organic lemon (Citrus limon), citronella (Cymbopogon nardus), and eucalyptus (Eucalyptus citriodora) essential  oils.”

The preliminary report I created for this product in the Cosmetics Database gives it a low hazard score of 1. This only ingredient with a hazard score above 1 is Polysorbate-20, and its hazard score of 3 was likely earned because of contamination concerns. It isn’t ideal, but the ingredients could certainly be worse. I mean, have you checked out the ingredients in Off! lately? DEET and possible phthalates all over the place!

Some great things about this product:

1. It’s free of parabens, sulfates, phenoxyethanol, & DEET.

2. It contains organic ingredients.

Product Description(provided at “Out & About” is a proprietary blend of carrier oils and essential oils formulated to promote worry free outdoor activity. “Out & About” will provide 2-4 hours of freedom from small spring-autumn annoyances that can interfere with your enjoyment of the great outdoors. The spray does not stain clothing.”

Price-  $14.95 for an 8.4 oz spray bottle.

Performance- This is definitely the least greasy natural bug spray I’ve ever used, and I really appreciate that. I expected it to be a bit oily like Burt’s Bees insect repellent, but it dries quickly and leaves no residue. In terms of effectiveness, I feel like it works just as well as (if not outshines) the Burt’s Bees stuff. My friends and I used it recently on a particularly mosquito-y night, and not a single one of us got bitten after application. Take that, mosquitoes!

Scent- Citronella, citronella, citronella! Some people aren’t fans, but I find it to be quite pleasant.

Rating- I’m subtracting a single point for the presence of polysorbate-20 in the formula, but the effectiveness of this product and its consistent fast drying easily earn it a 9/10.

Would I purchase this item again? Yes, yes I would.
